Nell Aldrich, age 87, of Dora, passed away September 13, 2024. Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, in New Horizon Memorial Chapel with Rev. Jack Thorn officiating. Burial will follow in New Horizon Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 1 until 2pm.
Ms. Aldrich was born August 22, 1937, to the late Delver and Addie Beavers Nethery. She was preceded in death by her husband Ed Aldrich, infant daughter Julie Lively, sisters Anna Faye Hughes, Sharon Nethery, brothers Jimmy Nethery, W.D. Nethery, Harold Nethery and Dennis Nethery.
She is survived by her children Garian Cook, Robin Pratt, Dirk Lively, Elizabeth Land, along with brothers Auburn (Janice) Nethery, Terry (Deb) Nethery and Keith (Becky) Plyplar. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and a great grandchild on the way.
Ms. Aldrich was one of the first ten women to go underground in the Jim Walter #3 mines. She was also a two-time survivor of lung cancer.
