Nelda Jean Williams Gautney, age 89, of Killen, passed away Tuesday, April 29, 2025. Visitation will be Friday, May 2nd from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm at Williams Funeral Home of Florence. The service will follow at 1:00 pm in the funeral home chapel with Brother Mark Parris officiating. Burial will be at Center Star Cemetery. Grandsons will be pallbearers and honorary bearers.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Lawon and Annie Pearl Williams; brother, Robert Holland “Bobby” Williams; grandson, Mason Grant Smith.
Survivors are her sons, Tim Gautney (Tammy), Russell Gautney, and Randell Gautney (Sherri); sister, Laurie Freeman; 11 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
Jean was a member of Center Star Methodist Church for over 60 years where she was a choir member. Memaw loved the Lord, her family, Alabama football and watching the band perform at halftime, McDonalds cheeseburgers and apple pie, diet coke, putting together puzzles, watching her birds and her flower garden, watching Perry Mason, Andy Griffin, and Family Feud, crossword puzzles, and talking. She loved her grandchildren and will be missed dearly. In-lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Center Star Methodist Church.
