Nelda Jean Bynum, age 92 of Jasper, passed away on Saturday, May 8, 2021 at Ridgewood Health Services.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 11, 2021 at 5:00 p.m. at Collins-Burke Funeral Home, funeral services will follow at 6:00 p.m. in the Collins-Burke Chapel. A graveside service will be held at Lebanon Methodist Church in Oneonta on Wednesday, May 12, 2021 at 2:00 p.m.
Mrs. Bynum was preceded in death by her Husband-Harmon Bynum, Sr.; Parents-James Moses and Cannie Belle Hyche; Brothers-Curtis, Jack and Kelley Hyche; Sisters-Wilodene Oswalt and Hazel Scott.
She is survived by her Children-Harmon Bynum, Jr. (Lovenia), James Wallace Bynum (Donna) and Kathy Cooner (Bill); Grandchildren-Matthew Cooner (Amanda) and Michael Cooner (Jill); Great Grandchildren-Hunter, Emily and Hannah Cooner, Parker, Hayden and Landon Cooner; Sister-Pat Martin; Special Lifelong Friend-Kathryn Daniel Long; Host of special nieces and nephews.
She was well known for her love of sewing and making quilts. She was a volunteer at Walker Baptist Medical Center in the surgery waiting room. She was always proud when all her children were together and would sing songs around the piano. She loved her church friends and dedicated her life to never miss church.
