Nelda B. Johnson, 83, of Albertville died at 12:15 p.m. on the 14th day of July 2020.
Due to Covid19, the family has requested there will be no visitation. A family graveside service only will be held at Memory Hill Cemetery. Services will be performed by Rev. Aaron Johnson. Pallbearers will be her family.
Mrs. Johnson was born in Gadsden, Alabama on August 24, 1936 to SD and Eva Burroughs. Her formal years of education were obtained at Gadsden High School, then a BS in Education from Jacksonville State University, where Mrs. Johnson was a member of the Marching Southerners Ballerinas. It is while Mrs. Johnson was a member of the Southerners; she met the love of her life, Herman. Mrs. Johnson later obtained her Masters in Education from the University of Alabama.
Mrs. Johnson was an educator for over 38 years. She helped mold the lives of children from San Antonio, Texas, Dalton Georgia, Jesup, Georgia and finally served the young minds of Evans Elementary School in Albertville, Alabama for almost 25 years.
Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. SD Burroughs, an loving husband of almost 60 years, Herman Lee Johnson.
She leaves behind her son, Dwayne Johnson, and daughter, Lisa Shell (Danny). She also leaves behind a grandson Evan B. Isbill (Rachel), sister, Nancy Poole, brother, Jack Burroughs, as well as various nieces, nephews, cousins and loving family members.
