Neal Clay Lance, age 89, of Franklin, TN passed away Wednesday, February 26, 2025, at his residence. He was a native of Wayne County, TN, retired from the Federal Highway Administration, and a member of Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Mr. Lance served his country honorably in the U.S. Army.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clay E. and Naomah Alexander Lance.
He is survived by wife, Sue Nell Frank Lance; one daughter, Donna Kay Lance Cate (Jeff); two sons, Larry Lance (Rene) and Michael Clay Lance (Susan); eight grandchildren, Ryan Lance, Curtis Lance, Joshua Lance, Katie Lance, Alex Cate (Logan), Chelsea Cate, Caroline Cate, and Andrew Cate; two great-grandchildren, Ann Elizabeth Cate and Wesley Cate.
Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. Graveside services and interment will be conducted at John Lay Cemetery at 10:00 AM Friday, March 14, 2025, with Wayne Martin officiating with military honors. The family suggests memorials be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
