WAYNE COUNTY, TN – On October 25, 2015, at approximately 9:35 a.m., Natchez Trace Parkway Communications received notification of vehicle striking a tree near milepost 345.3 involving a Mercury Montego. U.S. Park Rangers, Wayne County Sheriff’s Deputies, and the Wayne County coroner responded to the scene.
The driver of the Mercury, identified as William Robert McVay Jr., age 51 of Iuka, MS, was pronounced deceased at the scene. A passenger in the vehicle, Allyson McVay, was transported to the Eliza Coffee Memorial Hospital in Florence, AL with injuries. Rangers are investigating the cause of the accident.
