TUPELO, MS – To celebrate American Indian Heritage month, November’s featured story is “Nittak Hollo Nakfish! It’s Saturday,” a fun book written by the American Indian author, Laura Clark. The book is written in both Chickasaw and English languages. A ranger will read the English version but will insert Chickasaw words, prompting the listeners to join in. Children and their families are encouraged to come enjoy the Read with a Ranger program at 10:00 am on Saturday, November 11, 2017, at the Parkway Visitor Center in Tupelo, Mississippi.
Read with a Ranger is a 45-minute program that is most appropriate for ages six and under, but all ages are welcome. Participants listen to a story, join in a fun craft and go on an optional and easy half-mile hike. Read with a Ranger features a new story on the second Saturday of the month.
