Naomi Joan Priest, age 84 of Franklin, passed away on Tuesday, September 5, 2023, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. She was born in Decherd on December 20, 1938, to the late Claude and Icalene (Warren) Powers.
Before her retirement, Joan had been employed for over thirty years at CVS as a supervisor. An avid sports fan, she enjoyed watching the UT Vols, Tennessee Titans, and many of her other favorite sports teams. She also enjoyed crocheting blankets for her family. Most of all, Joan cherished the time spent with her beloved family. She loved them with her whole heart and gave them so many memories to be cherished forever. A devoted Christian and member of Heritage Church of Christ, she truly loved going to church and her church family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her twin sister, Jeanette Steele; sisters, Mildred Wright and Claudia Kilgore; and brother-in-law, Mackie Priest. Joan is survived by her loving husband of sixty-three years, Earl Priest; children, Cheryl (Jimmy) Campbell, Lisa (Townes) Parsley, and Kristie (Kevin) Demumbran; grandchildren, Taylor Noble, Katie Campbell (Elijah Hartman), Abigail (Zach) Stokes, Andrew Parsley, Davis Demumbran, and Sophia Demumbran; great-grandchildren, Campbell Noble, Arrin Noble, Willis Noble, Amelia Hartman, and Erik Hartman; sisters, Louise Duncan, Joyce Young, and Linda Rose; sister-in-law, Patty Priest; and blessed nieces, Pam and Penny, along with so many other nieces and nephews close to her heart.
Visitation will be from 12-1pm on Saturday, September 9, 2023, at Heritage Church of Christ, 1056 Lewisburg Pike, Franklin, TN 37064, with funeral services following at 1:00 pm. Graveside Services will be held at 1:00 pm on Sunday, September 10, 2023, at Franklin Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Heritage Church of Christ, 1056 Lewisburg Pike, Franklin, TN 37064.
