Elizabeth Faye Chandler, 71, of Florence, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 6, 2023.

 

Faye was a member of the church of Christ. She was a member of the Central High School Class of 1972, never missing a class reunion.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Evert and Helen Hayes, and brother, Clayton Hayes.

 

She is survived by her devoted husband, Sam Chandler, of Florence; son, Jared Chandler and wife, Anita, of Iron City, Tennessee; grandchildren, Hayden, Isaac and Kyra Chandler, all of Iron City Tennessee; brothers, Ron and Nadine Hayes, Randy and Regina Hayes, all of Florence, and Phillip and Debbie Hayes, of Sheffield; sisters, Carolyn and Tim McCluskey, of Greenhill, Edith Grigsby (the late Edward), of Killen, Brenda and Daniel Creasy, of Florence, Mary and Jack Handley, of Greenhill, Doris Creasy, and Myra and Danny Arnold, all of Florence; sister-in-law, Barbara Hayes, of Cullman; and a host of nieces and nephews.

 

Visitation will be noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 9, 2023, at New Hope Church of Christ. The funeral will follow at the church, with burial in the adjoining cemetery. Officiating will be Travis Creasy and Ben Hayes. Congregational singing will be led by Doug King.

 

Pallbearers will be Isaac Chandler, Tom Grigsby, Takoda Withers, David Hayes, Brian Hayes and Dale Hayes. Honorary pallbearer will be Bradley Dupree.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the New Hope Cemetery Fund, 8245 County Road 15, Florence, AL 35633.
