Nannette Mae Holder Dodson, age 90 of Huntland, passed away on Saturday, November 29, 2025, at Highpoint Health Medical Center in Winchester. A native of Franklin County, she was born on June 19, 1935, to the late Roy Wilbur and Rilla Cain (Landess) Holder in Huntland. Before her retirement, Nannette was employed with Boeing as an administrative assistant. A dedicated Christian, she attended Huntland United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School and was the pianist for over twenty-five years. She also helped administer church outreach as well as community service. From tending to her flowers, reading books of any genre, and ballroom dancing, Nannette enjoyed life to the fullest. An avid sports fan, she would often be found cheering for the Tennessee Titans and Alabama Crimson Tide. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. Dodson Sr; and siblings, Joe P. Holder and Sandra Holland. Nannette is survived by her loving children, Jacqueline (Max) Vaughn, Janet (Greg) Mercier, Robert E. (Betsy) Dodson Jr; grandchildren, Chris (Jessica) Vaughn, Nick (Amanda) Vaughn, Matthew (Jo Anna) Mercier, Stephen (Catherine) Mercier, James Mercier (Candace Lyons), David (Katherine) Mercier, Adam Mercier (Julia Pimmel), Robert E. Dodson III, Elizabeth Dodson, Joseph Holder, and Joel Holder; great-grandchildren, Carlilse “Carli” Vaughn and Jacquelyn Mercier; brother, James (Mary Jane) Holder; sisters-in-law, Margie Joyce Dodson and Gina Holder; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 5-8pm on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, in the Chapel of Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Morgan Cemetery.
