Nancy Marie Grissom, 60, of Tuscumbia, AL, passed away on Saturday, August 16, 2025. A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, August 31, 2025 at Colbert Memorial Chapel. Visitation will be from 1-2 with a service to follow at 2.
Nancy started her nursing career over 40 years ago. She graduated with her LPN and went on to purse higher education at UNA where she obtained her MSN. Nancy’s career took her all over the country, she touched countless lives. The impact Nancy made on her peers and the lives of others is unsurpassable. Nancy’s greatest joy in life was her grandchildren. She especially enjoyed camping. Nancy’s strength, generosity, love, and character touched everyone she met. She had the unique ability to make everyone feel loved and special.
She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Ilene Vandiver.
She is survived by her husband of 39 years, Denson Grissom; daughters, Loni Clemons (Joe), Jordan Boyd (Ryan); grandchildren, Memphis, Cooper, Montgomery, Palmer, Macon; honorary grandchildren, Reece and Rhett Carroll; siblings, Phyllis Bohannon (Dwight), Eddie Vandiver, Kathryn Hill, Sissy Vandiver; a host of nieces and nephews; and her beloved dog, Skynyrd.
