In March 1942, she eloped and married the love of her life Karl Gillette who preceded her in death in 1999.

Nancy was an avid bowler, who bowled several 300 games. She also loved sewing, quilting, and embroidering for family and friends. During the summer, she enjoyed canning fruits and vegetables from her husband’s garden. She loved flowers and liked to share them with others. Nancy was a proud supporter for her children and grandchildren in the activities they participated in, especially watching them play sports. She attended all their games for as long as her physical health was good. Nancy was a sportswoman herself, she was added to the Sportsman’s Hall of Fame in Merrion County Tennessee, where she attended school and she loved and played all the sports that she was allowed.

Nancy has faced many obstacles in her life, for example Breast Cancer, two broken hips, a dislocated shoulder and knee injury.

She faced each one with great faith in her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and came out of these crises a survivor. She was a living example of a kind compassionate Christian wife, mother, sibling and friend. She loved doing the work for her church family cooking for the sick and helping others in any way possible, which gave her great joy. Nancy worshipped at the Beltline Church of Christ in Decatur Alabama. She will dearly be missed.
