Nancy Hill Sims, 88, of Fayetteville, Tennessee, passed away November 20, 2023. Born in Huntsville, she graduated from Huntsville High school in 1952. She was an art major at Auburn University and studied art at UAH. She worked for many years at Bragg’s Ethan Allen and taught art classes after retirement. She enjoyed gifting portraits to many friends and family members. She belonged to St. Mary Magdalene Episcopal Church of Fayetteville.

She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Coach Clifford Sims; daughter, Amanda Whatley Saile; son-in-law, Jeff; granddaughter, Elizabeth Saile of Dallas; daughter, Jennie Whatley of Florida; sisters, Diane Henry and Judy Key and husband, Barry, of Huntsville; brother-in-law, Wallace Whatley Jr.; and sister-in-law, Carol Adams Whatley of Auburn; cousins, Mike Maples of Huntsville and James Wakefield of Anniston. She is preceded in death by her husband, Harold Prince Whatley; daughter, Rachael Sims; sister, Sally Hill Gunn; and parents, Leo and Gertrude Hill, all of Huntsville.

A graveside service will take place on Sunday, November 26 at 2:00 p.m. at Maple Hill Cemetery with Reverend Coy Hallmark officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
