Nanalee Maddox Milner Metz, 88, died December 14 of metastatic bone cancer at her home in Eufaula, AL, surrounded by family. An award-winning artist and former history teacher at Deshler High School and Central Connecticut State University, Nan was known widely as the “Santa Lady” for the Christmas-themed figures she created of polymer clay and fabric.

A celebration of her life will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, January 18, 2025, at Chapman Funeral Home in Eufaula. Later this year, her ashes will be buried between her husband, Doug Metz, and son, Tim Milner, at the Lee Family Cemetery in her hometown of Rainbow City.
