Funeral for Nan Jean Jones Lanier, 75, of Hillsboro, will be Thursday, August 6, 2015, at 1 p.m. at Parkway Funeral Home, with Nelson Tucker officiating. Burial will be in East Lawrence Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Lanier, who died Monday, August 3, 2015, at her home, was born June 20, 1940, in Lawrence County to James Frank Jones and Fannie Mae Peebles Jones. She retired from Prestolite and was a member of New Center Baptist Church. She enjoyed fishing. Her parents preceded her in death.
Survivors include her husband, Ten Lanier; two sons, Ricky (Denise) Lanier and Keith (Stephanie) Lanier; grandchildren, Dustin Lanier, Austin Lanier, Tracey Lanier, Nikki Dutton, Amanda Elkins, Kristy Shelton and Jesamy Harville; great-grandchildren, Logan Narmore, Spencer Sharpley, Baylee Sharpley, Ava Lanier, Charlee Lanier, Houston Livingston, Maddox Elkins, Natalie Speegle, Porter Dutton, Devin Harville, Maddie Harville and Lexie Harville; one great-great-grandchild, Jase Narmore; two brothers, Bennett “B.H.” Jones and Casey Jones; and one sister, Louise Tolbert.
Pallbearers will be Dustin Lanier, Austin Lanier, Chris Goodwin, Roger Weeks, Spencer Sharpley and Ronald Terry.
