Mrs. Nadine Z. Masterson, 93, of Huntsville, formerly of Florence, passed away March 5, 2014 at the Regency Retirement Village. She was a member of Wood Avenue Church of Christ, and retired from Jacksonville Naval Air Station as a Medical Transcriber after 35 years of service before moving back to Florence.
Visitation will be Saturday, March 8, 2014 from 12 – 2 p.m. at Greenview Funeral Home with the funeral service following at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Officiating will be Miles Stutts. Burial will follow in Florence City Cemetery.
Mrs. Masterson was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Masterson; parents, Walter and Jennie Zahnd; step-mother, Mary Bogus Zahnd; brothers, Thurman, Robert, and Donald Zahnd; sisters, Mildred Bevis, Virginia Lowe, Marie Ballew, Shirley Jackson, and Linda Inman.
She is survived by a special niece and caregiver, Trish Brown (Ray); brothers, John Zahnd (Shelby), Arnold Zahnd both of Florence, Jerome Zahnd (Merle) of Trinity, Martin Zahnd (Jennifer) of Killen; sisters, Betty Eaton (James) of Johnson City, TN, Martha Butler (Wayne) of Madison, Joyce McGee, Brenda Gail Clanton (Buford) of Florence; special nephews, John D. Bevis, Jerry Lowe (Xina), Robert Ballew (Nancy), Terry and David Ballew, Kenny Cargile (Faye), Wade Zahnd (Mikyung); special nieces, Donna Mack, Laura Hope, Janice Roncaioli; many other nieces, great-nieces and nephews.
Active pallbearers will be her brothers and nephews.
Honorary pallbearer will be John D. Bevis.
