Funeral service for Myrtle R. Mitchell, 79, will be Monday, April 27, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Michael James officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Graveside service and interment will be in New Live Oak Cemetery in Selma, AL on Tuesday, April 28, 2026 at 1:00 PM. Visitation will be Monday, April 27, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home.
Mrs. Mitchell passed away on Thursday, April 23, 2026, at her residence. She was born July 25, 1946, in Dallas County, Alabama, to Heber Meeks Langston and Nan Weedon Langston, who preceded her in death.
Mrs. Mitchell was employed by Selma Animal Hospital and Northside Animal Hospital in Selma but retired from Dauphin West Premiere Medical Group in Mobile, Alabama, where she was an Administrative Assistant. She was an active member of Neel Church of Christ and a graduate, Class of 1964, of Parrish High School in Selma, Alabama. She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. Her greatest treasure was her family. She loved the beach and was a BIG Alabama fan and a Braves Fan as well.
Also preceding her in death were her husband: Richard Larry Rowell, and a sister: Alice Langston Russell,

Husband – Donald H. Mitchell,
Daughters – Gina Rowell Fuller (Bruce), and
Ellen Rowell Terrell (Mitchell),
Brother – Hugh Langston (Judy),
Six Grandchildren- Braxton Fuller (Ashley), Jessica Fuller Abbott (Sam), Maddie Gill, Clayton Gill (Katharine), MArlee Terrell, and Dillon Terrell (Katie).
Nine Great Grandchildren
Pallbearers will be Braxton Fuller, Clayton Gill, Carl Farrow, John Mitchell, David Mitchell, and Jason Mitchell.
Family extends “Special Thanks” to Aveanna Hospice and her special caregivers- Robin Green, Donna Pearson, Yasmin Owens, Sheila Garner, and Amy Lacy.
