Myrtice Johnson, 96, passed away on Wednesday, April 2, 2025 at North Mississippi Medical Center Inpatient Hospice in Tupelo. Born in Burlison, TN, on June 15, 1928, she was the only child of James “Casey” Evans and Cleo Abernathy Evans. She was a graduate of Byars Hall High School in Covington, TN and married the love of her life, W.B. “Bill” Johnson in 1946. She was a member of First Methodist Church in Amory since 1954 where she taught Sunday school and sang in the choir in her younger years. For over 30 years, she was a bookkeeper for Amory Garment Co. She loved her home, flowers, and butterflies. She was an avid SEC basketball fan especially Tennessee girls; but most of all, she cherished her family and lived to make their lives better. A strong, independent, gentle, and loving lady, she was respected by all who knew her.

A private family service will be held at a later date.

She is survived by her children, Jimmy Johnson (Peggy), Madison, MS and Patricia Johnson Weathers (Gerald), Madison, AL; 5 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren.
