Myrna Rose Humm Cattlett Myrna Rose Humm Cattlett passed away peacefully at home on June 10, 2020 at the age of 85. She was born in River Forest, a suburb of Chicago, IL to the late Charles Elwin Humm and Rose Hagan Humm. She attended The University of Alabama, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Home Economics. She met and married Ronald Grayson Cattlett in 1956, and traveled with him to San Antonio, TX while he served as a 2nd Lieutenant in the Air Force. Following Ron’s military service, they lived in Birmingham, AL before settling in Ft. Lauderdale, FL to raise their children.

Myrna was a loyal friend and matriarch of her beloved family. She and her husband, Ron, were avid travelers and were able to visit all 7 continents throughout their lifetime. She particularly loved cruising and spent 2 weeks each summer on a trans-Atlantic voyage. In her spare time, she also enjoyed playing bridge, needlepoint, cooking and reading. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family and friends between her homes in the Appalachian Mountains and in the U.S. Virgin Islands.

She is survived by her husband Ronald G. Cattlett and three children: son Ronald H. Cattlett (Florence), and daughters Cathie Bogue (Wayne) and Lee Seeley (Mark). She is also survived by 5 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service is to be held on June 20, 2020 at 3:00 p.m. at the Chapel of the Laughlin Service Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Epilepsy Foundation or Encompass Health Hospice.
