Myrna Jo Battles Johnson passed away Saturday in Columbia, SC. Myrna grew up in Rainsville and graduated from Fyffe High School in 1959. She retired from the US Army Missile Command at Redstone Arsenal after 28 years of service.
She was preceded in death by the father of her children, Warren T. Johnson and her second husband, Joel Blanks; parents, William & Laura Battles and brother, Lavonne Battles.
Myrna is survived by her daughter, Leanne Johnson Hindman of Columbia, SC; son, Philip Todd Johnson of Jacksonville, FL; brother, Arlon Battles of Trenton, GA; and sisters, Ann Mitchell of Rainsville and Trena Pollard of Las Cruces, NM.
A graveside service will be held at 2 pm, Friday, October 26, 2018 at Maple Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Greater Huntsville Humane Society, 2812 Johnson Rd SW, Huntsville, AL 35805.
