Funeral for Myrl Virginia McCay Nelson, 84, of Moulton will be Monday, March 17, 2014, at 3 p.m. at Parkway Funeral Home with Elder David Guttery and Pastor Jim Nelson officiating. Burial will be in Moulton Memory Gardens. Visitation is tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home.
Mrs. Nelson, who died March 14, 2014, at her residence was born January 9, 1930, in Lawrence County to Andrew and Mattie McCay Sr. She was a housewife, loving mother and grandmother. A member of the Moulton Church of God, she was a strong christian influence to her entire family and friends. Mrs. Nelson was preceded in death by her spouse, J.W. Nelson (Shorty); her parents;
son, Marvin Nelson; and grandson, Eric Nelson.
Survivors include sons, Marlon (Julia) Nelson, Mark (Michele) Nelson, Jim (Cathy) Nelson and Timmy (Sherry) Nelson; daughter, Marlene (David) Guttery; three brothers; three sisters, nine grandchildren; and seven great- grandghildren.
Pallbearers will be Jon Mark Nelson, James Nelson, Benjamin Nelson, Philip Nelson, Dustin Cole and Drew Statom
