Myrl Talley was born on August 2, 1930, the daughter of the late Joe and Icie Henderson Elkins.
She was united in marriage to W.A. Talley, who preceded his wife in death on November 23, 1998.
Mrs. Talley worked as an inspector for Savannah Manufacturing. She enjoyed watching basketball and listening to gospel music. She also enjoyed attending church and was a member of Savannah Church of God. She loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren and loved to spend time with her family.
Myrl Talley departed this life on July 19, 2026 in Adamsville, Tennessee, at the age of 95 years, 11 months, and 17 days.
She is survived by her sons, Jerry Talley (Helen) of Walnut, Mississippi and David Talley of Morris Chapel, Tennessee; daughters, Faye Franks (Jerry) of Savannah, Tennessee, Vickie Melson of Savannah, Tennessee, and Shannon Whitley (Timmy) of Selmer, Tennessee; sister, Jolene Wright of Columbus, Mississippi; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Myrl was preceded in death by her children, Edith Blackwell, Nelson Talley (Geraldine), Pat Talley (Joan), Bobby Talley, Betty Talley, Douglas Elkins, Carol Talley, Charles Talley, and Helen Talley; daughter in law, Gail Talley; and sisters, Margaret Boyd and Dorothy Lollar.
