Myra Sue Doucette
(nee Bullen), age 76, of Waukegan, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 29, 2013, at her home.
Myra Sue was born in Red Bay, Ala., to Hollis and Minnie (Winchester) Bullen on July 17, 1937, and later married her late husband of 34 years, Eugene Doucette, in 1959. She received her associate degree from the University of Alabama and worked at Cherry Electric starting as a stockroom clerk and retiring as a coordinator in Production Control in 2001, after 30 years of employment. Myra Sue loved the fun things in life and especially traveling, golfing, bowling, and shopping.
Surviving Myra are her children, Hollis Doucette, of Monticello, Fla., Daniel (Donna) Doucette, of Salem, Wis., and Myra Annette Doucette, of Waukegan, Ill.; and two grandchildren, Samantha and Amanda.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene, in 1993; two sisters, Linda and Dorothy Bullen; as well as her parents.
Visitation will be held at the Salata Gurnee Funeral Home, 4190 Old Grand Ave., Gurnee, on Thursday, Jan. 2, 2014, from 5-8 p.m. and again at the funeral home on Friday morning, Jan. 3, from 12:30 p.m. until the time of service at 1:30 p.m. with Father James Merold officiating. Interment will follow in Ascension Cemetery in Libertyville. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations in Myra Sue’s memory be made to the American Cancer Society , Lake County Regional Office, 100 Tri-State International No. 125, Lincolnshire, IL 60069.
