Myra Dell Dean, 88, died peacefully at home, Wednesday, July 12, 2023. She was born March 19, 1935 to Lester and Daisy Hopkins, the oldest of five children. Myra finished school at Tishomingo High School and married Troy Dean on December 20, 1952. She loved spending time with family and friends. Myra enjoyed gardening, traveling, tending to her flowers and making jelly. She was an active member of Tishomingo Baptist Church and took several association building mission trips to several states.
Services will be Saturday, July 15, 11 a.m. at Tishomingo Baptist Church with Bro. Bobby Cobb officiating. Burial will be in Tishomingo City Cemetery. Deaton Funeral Home, Belmont, MS will be in charge of arrangements.
She is survived by her husband of seventy years – Troy Dean; daughter – Nancy Hall (Don); son – Tommy Dean (Margie); grandchildren – Justin Martin (Megan), Charlie Dean (Alia), Johnny Dean (Michelle) and Cecilia Dean; great-grandchildren – Kinsley Martin, Kylee Martin, Brooklyn Martin and Brynlee Martin; brother – Royce Hopkins (Sandra) and two sisters – Lena Bennett (Bryson) and Shelia Potts (Phil).
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Renelda Grubbs.
Pallbearers will be Justin Martin, Charlie Dean, Johnny Dean, Ricky Hopkins, Kim Dawson and Bobby Pharr.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Tishomingo Baptist Church Mission Fund, P.O. Box 89, Tishomingo, MS 38873.
Visitation will be Friday, July 14, 6-8 p.m. at Tishomingo Baptist Church.
