SHEFFIELD-Muscle Shoals Sound Studio is celebrating 55 years with Swampaversary, Friday, April 26, 2024 with gates opening at 6:30pm. The Swampers, Jimmy Johnson, David Hood, Roger Hawkins and Barry Beckett, began operations at the studio in April of 1969 with Cher as their first artist recording at the studio.
Enjoy the evening with food trucks, vendors, and awesome merchandise available throughout the event. It’s not just a concert; it’s an experience! This event is a part of their initiative to keep the studio running for another 55 years and beyond. During the day the studio is partnering with the Colbert County Animal Shelter for a discounted pet adoption day at the studio sponsored by Pedigree.
Nashville rockers, “Hippies and Cowboys”, will be headlining the concert on the grounds of the iconic studio at 3614 Jackson Highway in Sheffield. A songwriter showcase featuring hit songwriter Mark Naramore will open the show. Muscle Shoals Music Foundation’s mission, rooted in preserving the legacy of 3614 Jackson Hwy, encompasses not only musical heritage but the continuation of what future generations of musicians will accomplish. The Muscle Shoals Music Foundation, a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, is tasked with the ownership and operation of the iconic 3614 Jackson Hwy recording studio.
