Muscle Shoals Police Hold Three Persons Of Interest In Sunday Shooting

MUSCLE SHOALS-The Muscle Shoals Police Department issued a statement concerning a shooting that took place on Sunday, January 23:
“SHOOTING INVESTIGATION
At 5:20p.m. on Sunday, January 23rd, 2022; Officers with Muscle Shoals Police Department responded to call of a gunshot victim in the parking lot of Avalon Park Apartments located at 1901 Sheffield Ave. in Muscle Shoals. When Officers arrived on scene they located a male victim outside of the apartment complex with a gunshot wound to the leg. The victim was transported to North Alabama Medical Center by medical personnel, with non-life threatening injuries.
Muscle Shoals Police Detectives were called to the apartments where Officers assisted them in processing the scene and interviewing witnesses. During the investigation of the incident, Detectives learned the description of a vehicle that left the scene, as well as the name of a person-of-interest believed to be involved. Agencies statewide were notified of the vehicle’s description.
Later that evening, Alabama State Troopers with the ALEA Huntsville and Madison Posts, as well as Officers with Madison Police Department and Deputies with the Madison County Sheriff’s Department, located a vehicle in Madison County, Alabama and at the request of the Muscle Shoals Police Department, initiated a traffic stop on the suspected vehicle believed to be involved in this incident. During the traffic stop, State Troopers, Officers and Deputies took 3 people of interest into custody without incident. All 3 were transported to the Muscle Shoals Police Department as persons-of-interest related to this case.
At this time, this matter is still under investigation. Due to the nature of this incident and with it still being under investigation, all names of all parties believed to be involved are currently being withheld. At the appropriate time, an updated press release will be made available. All suspects and/or persons-of-interest are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
The Muscle Shoals Police Department would like to thank and give it’s upmost appreciation to all local surrounding agencies as well as the ALEA Huntsville and Madison State Trooper Posts, the city of Madison Police Department, and also the Madison County Sheriffs Department for their assistance into the investigation of this matter.”
