MUSCLE SHOALS– The Josie Music Awards have announced their Official 2021 Nominees and talented Country Music Artist, Johnny Collier, from the Muscle Shoals area of Northern Alabama, has been nominated in several categories. In May, The Josie Music Awards released their list of 2021 nominees naming Johnny Collier as a nominee for Male Vocalist of the Year, Album of the Year for his second album, “Love Me For Who I Am”, and Song of the Year for his single, “Honey For Hire”. But even more impressive, Collier was among only 12 nominees in the country category named in the June 6th announcement from The Josie Music Award for the coveted ENTERTAINER OF THE YEAR Award!
Collier, a resident of Northern Alabama since 1979, grew up in
Missouri. Following in the footsteps of other musical Missourians such as Sheryl Crow, Chuck Berry, Sara Evans, Eminem, etc., Johnny left home after graduating high school with just his guitar and a suitcase full of talent. It didn’t take Johnny long to find the music of Muscle Shoals to his liking and soon found himself playing with the Hank William, Jr.’s Band, members of The Little Richard Band, opening for Jim Ed Brown and other country music greats.
Johnny’s career has been chalked full of milestones and accolades leading to his winning his first major music award in the Country Music Category from the Hollywood Music In Media Awards in 2020. While the Josie Music Awards are still relatively young compared to other music awards, the JMA’s, now in their 7th season, are rapidly gaining in popularity and prestige. The Josie Music Awards is an all-genre music award show & ceremony that includes a lavish red-carpet event and many performances. Since its inaugural celebration in 2015, the Josie Music Awards was, is, and remains the largest independent artist award show globally.
