TUSCUMBIA-On the morning of August 21st, 2025, members of the MSPD Detective Division, K-9 Unit, and drone operators, in conjunction with members of the United States Marshals Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force and Tuscumbia PD Detectives, conducted an operation at a residence off Highway 72 in Tuscumbia.
This resulted in the warranted arrest of Joseph Spruell Pounders (49), who has been established as a suspect in multiple
Life-Saving Actions by Deputies
crimes against children under the age of 12.
Pounders was taken into custody without incident and subsequently transported to the Colbert County Jail.
This investigation remains ongoing at this time. As of this date, Pounders stands charged with one count of Sexual Abuse of a Child Under the age of 12.
