Mrs. Annie Beatrice “Bea” Owes, a longtime resident of Sheffield, Ala., was born Aug. 10, 1928, to the late Martin and Pattie Oates.
She was united in Heaven with the Lord and her late husband, Tom, on July 22, 2013.
She was a faithful member of First Missionary Baptist Church, Sheffield, Ala.
Bea leaves to cherish her memories her daughters, Gwendolyn Owes-Roberson (Rick) in Miami, Fla., Darrow Owes-Davis in Birmingham; and her son, Thomas Owes Jr. (Janet) in Birmingham. Her grandchildren include Erika Roberson (Adam Crawford), N.Y., Darrian Roberson in Miami, Thomas Owes III and Adam Owes, Birmingham. Her sisters are Ruby S. Martin, Florence, Betty J. Shamblee, Pittsburgh, Jeanette Armond, Florence. Brothers include Simon and Charles Oates, Florence; and sisters-in-law. Bernice King (TC), Columbus, Ga., Lucille Pratt (Howard), Muscle Shoals; and brother-in-law, William E. Owes, Sheffield. In addition, she leaves a host of nieces; nephews; cousins; and friends.
The funeral service for Mrs. Owes will be
noon Wednesday, July 31, 2013, at
First Missionary Baptist Church, Sheffield, Ala.
Dr. J.C. Carter is officiating.
Burial is in Oakwood Cemetery, Sheffield, Ala.
The body will be placed in the church at 11 a.m.
Public viewing will be Tuesday, 9 a.m. -8 p.m. at
Thompson and Son Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. Thompson and Son Funeral Home, Tuscumbia, is directing.
