Moulton Woman Killed In Van Dump Truck Crash

traffic_fatalityQUAD CITIES POST/THE SHOALS– A two-vehicle crash Wednesday, June 17, claimed the life of a Moulton woman.

Janie Hurley Owens, 86, of Moulton was killed when the 2014 Ford van in which she was a passenger collided with a 1996 Ford dump truck. Owens was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Ford Van, Denise Allene Schilz, 50, of Falkville, was transported to Decatur General Hospital. The driver of the dump truck and three juvenile passengers in the van were also transported to area hospitals.

The crash occurred at 2:30 p.m. at the intersection of Alabama 24 and Lawrence County 325, five miles west of Trinity. Nothing further is available as Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate.
