MOULTON-On Friday, August 4 the Moulton Police Department responded to a 911 call received from a home located on 200 block of Main Street in Moulton at around 3:00am. When officers arrived they discovered a seven-year-old boy suffering two gunshot wounds to the head. This information came from a woman standing outside the home who has been identified as the child’s mother.
According to the Lawrence County Coroner Scott Norwood the boy was pronounced deceased at the residence from his

injuries. Authorities at the scene report the gunshot wounds were sustained from close range. Captain Russell Graham from the Moulton Police Department said the child’s body was transported from the scene for further autopsy.
Shannon Renee Karr, 36 was booked into the Lawrence County Jail on Friday morning around 4:00am and has been charged with Capital Murder. This information comes according to jail records. Karr is the mother of the deceased child. She is being held at the County Jail without bond.
