Mona McClendon Holmes, 58 of Arab, died Saturday July 22, 2017 at Huntsville Hospital.
Mrs. Holmes was born April 12, 1959 in Dallas Texas to Jack Calvin McClendon and Frances Marie Hooper McClendon. She worked for the City of Arab as an accounting clerk until her retirement. She and Jerry Dale Holmes were married for 38 years. She enjoyed planting flowers, collecting antiques, reading cook books and spending time with her family and loved attending Church.
She was a member of Union Hill FCM Church.
Mrs. Holmes is survived by her husband: Jerry D. Holmes; her children: Adam Nathaniel Holmes and Leslie Ann Holmes; her mother: Frances Marie McClendon; her brothers and sister-in-law: Olen D. McClendon and Donna and Franklin W. McClendon; her sisters and brothers-in-law: Larona Sue Mahathey and Tony and Lena Johnson and Chris. She was preceded in death by her father: Jack Calvin McClendon; a brother: John Theo McClendon and a sister: Jackie Caleen McClendon.
Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday July 25, 2017 at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel with Brother: Jeff Rowan, officiating. Burial will be in Union Hill FCM Church Cemetery with Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel, directing.
Pallbearers will be Dewayne Shedd, Mike Still, Greg Still, Michael Hardin, Fred Prosser, Elton Haymon, Wayne Haynes and Max Harper
Visitation will be 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Monday July 24, 2017 at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel.
