Mrs. Modane Williams Daugette, age 92, of the Morgan City area passed away Tuesday, November 26th, 2019 at her home surrounded by her family. Mrs. Daugette was born on October 7th, 1927 in the Allen’s Cross Roads community of Marshall County to John H. “Jack” Williams and Ruby Barnard Williams. She graduated from Arab High School in 1945 and was a graduate of Snead State College. She worked on Redstone Arsenal until becoming a homemaker when her daughters were born. She and the late Fred Daugette had been married for 64 years when he passed in February of 2019. They lived their lives in Morgan City. She was a precious, kind and gentle person who devoted her life to her family. She enjoyed watching and feeding birds, cooking, sewing, reading, quilting, camping and hiking in her younger years,vegetable and flower gardening.She loved attending church and gospel singings. Most of all she loved being with her family and friends. Mrs. Daugette was of the Methodist faith.
She is survived by her daughters: Christy (Mike) McCormick and Dana Ody; granddaughter, Emily Ody; brothers, Charles Williams and Jerry Williams; sister, Ruby Jo Williams.She was preceded in death by her husband, William Fred Daugette, parents John H. and Ruby Williams, brothers John Williams and Patrick Claydeen Williams.
Funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 29th, 2019 at Brindlee Mtn. Chapel, Morgan City with Brothers Phil Clanton and Ken Burcham officiating. Visitation will take place from 12:00-2:00 prior to the service on Friday. Burial will be in Mt. Olive Cemetery with Brindlee Mtn. Chapel, Morgan City & Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel, directing.
Pallbearers will be James Dunn,Randall Key, Randy Pool, Bill Williams, Jeff Williams and Ricky Williams. Honorary pallbearers will include Byron Clemons,Ronald Oden and David Shockley
