Mitchell Wright was born on November 14, 1927 to the union of Alvin Wright & Ola Cook in Lavinia, TN. He moved to Milan, TN at the age of 2. He attended Gibson County Training School where he was an All-State Basketball player.
He was married to Augustine Neely on August 7, 1951. They had 2 children, Elaine Vonner & Michael Wright. He was a successful business man, owning Wright’s Exxon in Milan, TN for 30 plus years. His favorite pastime was watching sports of any kind and traveling.
He served on the Milan School Board, Milan Hospital Board and was a Founder and Director of the Bank of Milan. He also received numerous civic honors & awards in recognition for his tireless service to his community.
He departed this life on February 3, 2021. He was preceded in death by his parents., his wife, brothers, Robert & Leonard.
He is survived by his 2 children, Elaine & Michael(Shnedia). He is also survived by his grandchildren, Eric Vonner, Perron Vonner, Eric McClinton, Natasha Wright, Katrice Quitter, Felicia Oden and Bryan Wright; and a host of great grandchildren.
