THE SHOALS-Florence/Lauderdale Tourism will once again provide musical entertainment before its popular Swampette music tour on Saturday, May 9. Starting at 11 a.m., local favorite Mitch Mann will bring his brand of “roots music,” totally Americana in flavor, to the Gallery at the Florence/Lauderdale Visitor Center. The mini-concert
is free and open to the public.
The May 9 version of the Swampette tour of area music venues will follow Mann’s
performance, from noon to 4 p.m. The popular tour offers stops at FAME Studios, 3614 Jackson Highway and the Alabama Music Hall of Fame. Led by Judy Hood, wife of the
Swampers’ bass player David Hood, the tour travels to each venue aboard the “Trolley of Tunes.” Tour cost is $35 per person.
For reservations for Swampette tours, contact the Florence/Lauderdale Tourism Office at 256-740-4141.
