Minnie Faye Houston – Obituary

Minnie Faye Houston was born November 12, 1927 in Pocahontas, TN the daughter of the late Archie T. and Silas Barkley Young.

Mrs. Houston was a member of the Fourth Street Church of Christ in Selmer, TN. She loved sewing and being outside working in the yard or just sitting on the porch. She enjoyed her find-a-word puzzles. When she was able, she liked reading her Bible. Her most favorite thing to do was spend time with her grandchildren. She was an amazing mother, sister, grandmother, and friend.

Mrs. Houston departed this life on March 18, 2018 in Bethel Springs, TN at the age of 90 Years, 4 Months, 6 Days. She is survived by a son, Wayne Houston and wife Minnie of Shiloh, TN; two grandchildren, Jessica Kiestler and husband Scotty of Bethel Springs, TN, Holly Rickman and husband Matt of Selmer, TN; two great-grandchildren, Gage Kiestler and Matthew Rickman; two brothers, Fred Young and Robert Young; four sisters: Johnnie Thomas, Edith Leadford, and Eva Jo Cox; a sister-in-law, Pauline McClain; and a host of many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Houston was preceded in death by two sons: Dennis Hodge and Barry Hodge; two brothers: Floyd Young and Grady Young; four sisters: Mona Young, Cora Lee Busby, Louise Kiestler, and Vera Mae Boatman.
