Mindy Sims, age 51, of Huntsville, Alabama, passed away on Thursday, June 16, 2022, in Newnan, Georgia. Mindy was born August 3, 1970, in Jackson, Mississippi.
Mindy earned a BS in Electrical Engineering in 1997 from the University of Alabama in Huntsville. She served in the U.S. Navy Reserves receiving the rank of Lt. Commander before retirement, and supported MISIC as an Intelligence Officer. She was a member of Chase Park Church of Christ. She was an encouraging person, with a positive attitude about what came her way.
Mindy is survived by her husband, Michael Sims; children, Anna, Caleb, and Erin, all of Huntsville; her father, Jimmy Hynum (Nancy) of Port Gibson, Mississippi; and her brother, Greg Hynum (Angela) of Charlotte, North Carolina.
A visitation for Mindy will be held Monday, June 20, 2022, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Chase Park church of Christ, 1640 Winchester Rd NE, Huntsville, AL, followed by a celebration of life at 12:00 PM. Mindy will be laid to rest in Valhalla Memory Gardens, in the Masonic Garden.
