Funeral Services for Ms. Mindy Lee Haynes Phillips, age 93 of Delta, will be held on Saturday, August 27, 2022 at Lineville Baptist Church at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Ben Curlee, Rev. Jerry Colquett, Rev. L.C. Harris, and Rev. David Phillips officiating. Burial will follow at Center West Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.
Ms. Phillips passed away on Wednesday, August 24, 2022 after a long sickness with dementia. She was a lifelong resident of Clay County, and had worked a few years at Higgins Slacks as a seamstress. She spent most of her life as a Homemaker, Wife, and Mother to her two daughters. Mrs. Phillips was the epitome of Southern Living, and she was known for cooking fried pies and fried chicken. . She would spend most of her time out in her garden, often decorating with natural beauty, including driftwood and natural stone. She enjoyed cooking and providing meals for her family, and attending Lineville Baptist Church with her family as well. Mrs. Phillips was in the Keenagers group at LBC, and enjoyed going on trips with her church friends.
Mrs. Phillips is survived by her two daughters, Carolyn Young (Jim) of Delta and Janet Haldeman (Larry) of Tallapoosa, GA.; her 6 grandchildren, Stacie Hogan (Derek), Shannon Tapley (Jeremy), Tyler Williams (Olivia), Jonathan Haldeman (Tommi), Julia Godwin (Cole), Phillip Haldeman; 3 great grandchildren, Anna Caroline Tapley, James Bryant Tapley, and Charlotte Kate Godwin; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Alexander and Dolly Vestula Sailors Haynes; her husband of 49 years, Brewer E. Phillips; several brothers and sisters, and her son-in-law, Greg Williams.
Active Pallbearers will be Derek Hogan, Jeremy Tapley, Tyler Williams, Jonathan Haldeman, Cole Godwin Phillip Haldeman, James Tapley, Bert Haynes, and Drew Phillips.
Honorary Pallbearers are the members of the Faithful Sunday School Class and The Ladies of the Round Table.
Her visitation will take place on Friday, August 26, 2022 from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville. She will also remain at Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville from 8:00 A.M. until 10:30 A.M.
