Milton McCoy “Coy” Dillard, age 87, of Huntsville, Alabama passed away on September 17, 2025, in Huntsville Hospital.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Willowbrook Baptist Church on Saturday, September 27 at 12:00 noon with Rev. Mark Smith officiating.

Coy was born in Leuders, Texas on June 25, 1938. He went to high school at Colorado City High in Colorado City, Texas and graduated from Baylor University in 1960. Coy began his career in insurance with Fidelity Union Life Insurance in Dallas, Texas. He retired with Equitable Life Insurance in Atlanta, Georgia but then came out of retirement to work for his long-time friend, Sam Massey.

Coy taught Sunday School and was ordained a Deacon at Briarlake Baptist Church in Decatur, Georgia. He enjoyed taking trips with the family, being with his grandchildren, and playing golf. Janet and Coy were married in 1966 and cherished times with family and friends.

Coy is survived by his wife, Janet; his children, Julie Outzs (Kevin) of Savannah, Georgia and Russell Dillard (Jennifer) in Huntsville, Alabama; grandchildren, Ava and Denver Outzs, and Katie and Andrew Dillard; brother-in-law, George West (Julie); and nieces and nephews, including Mary Virginia Frist (Chet), Allen West (Emily), Emily Sutherland (Michael), Stan Simmons, Steve Simmons and Wade Simmons (Marjorie). Coy was preceded in death by his sister, Sue Dillard-Bateman and his parents. Coy was deeply loved by his family and friends.
