Milo Forsythe Mathis was born October 20, 1920 in McNairy County, TN the daughter of the late Chester and Arizona Richards Forsythe.
She was united in marriage to J. P. Mathis, who preceded her in death.
Mrs. Mathis formerly worked as a cook for Chambers Cafe in Selmer. She also built bicycle seats for a manufacturing plant in Collierville and “picked a lot of cotton” in her youth. Mrs. Mathis enjoyed raising vegetables and flowers in her garden and raking leaves each fall, but her greatest love was spending time with her family.
Mrs. Mathis departed this life on September 11, 2016 in Corinth, Mississippi at the age of 95 Years, 10 Months, 22 Days. She is survived by a daughter, Pat Huckabee of Ramer, TN; two grandchildren, Lea Ann Huckabee and Misty Huckabee; two great-grandchildren, Crystal Huckabee and Trent Thorne; two great-great-grandchildren, Bentley Huckabee and Gracelynne Huckabee; a brother, Thurston Forsythe of Selmer, TN; a sister, Blondell Walker of Adamsville, TN; and many extended family and friends.
