Huntsville – Feet tapped into action, and hands boomed loudly with applause, as the Million Dollar Quartet filled the Von Braun Center theater with electrifying rock-n-roll music.
The Quartet’s musical is about four rock-n-roll legends arriving in Memphis at Sun Records on December 4, 1956. During the night, they recorded a jam session that would forever shape music as we know it.
The musically talented actors brought Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Louis, Carl Perkins and others to life throughout the performance. John Countryman, the actor portraying Jerry Lee Lewis, stole all the laughs. Slaughter as Elvis stole all the hearts, and Kelly Lamont as Dyanna held her on with the boys. By the end of the show, the audience was on their feet dancing.
I got everything I wanted out of this musical and more! The songs were vibrant, the actors were colorful, and the energy was impossible. I give it five rock-n-roll legends out of five.
