ff baseballFLORENCE– The Florence Falcons Baseball Program is offering a chance for one lucky golfer to win $1 million or Ford Truck. The $1 Million Dollar Hole in One Shootout will be held at Blackberry Trail Golf Club with qualifying rounds beginning October 25th and the final swing for the cash November 1. The event is open to anyone from beginners to scratch golfers. If no one gets the million, closest to the hole still wins a great prize. The event benefiting the Florence Falcons baseball program, and will help fund all the new items and equipment needed for the new baseball facility.

The format of the event includes seven qualifying days at the Blackberry driving range from October 25 through October 31. Golfers pay $5 for 3 balls, $10 for 8 balls or $20 for 20 balls to hit a shot into the painted six circle on the green. All golf ball purchases and donations directly benefit the baseball program.

Each golfer hitting in the circle qualifies for the quarter-finals on November 1st and a chance to make it to the finals to swing for one million dollars! A hole in one in the semifinals wins a Ford truck courtesy of Long Lewis Ford. Every golfer making it to the semifinals will also receive a gift certificate for a free golf club of their choice.holeinone

What is a Million Dollar Hole in One Shootout?
A contest of chance and skill, where multiple golfers qualify for a chance to make the finals and shoot for a hole in one to win the grand prize

When it the event?
Qualifying begins at 8 am Saturday morning, October 25, 2014. Volunteers will be at the driving range throughout the day. Qualifying continues throughout the week, with the quarterfinals, semifinals and finals occurring Saturday, November 1, 2014

Is there a cost to enter?
Yes. Golfers purchase the golf balls to try to qualify. 3/$5, 8/$10 or 20/$20. All proceeds benefit the Florence Falcons Baseball program. Once a golfer qualifies there is no additional cost. Golfers can enter as many times as they wish until they qualify.

How do golfers qualify?
A circle is painted on the target green. Golfers hit from the designated areas on the driving range. Golfers hitting a ball inside the circle qualify for the next stage.

How many golfers advance to the semifinals?
All qualifiers get one shot on Saturday 11/1 to attempt to advance. The 30 closest to the pin advance to the semifinals (balls are numbered).

How many golfers advance to the finals?
The 30 semifinalists each get one shot on Saturday 11/1 to attempt to advance to the finals. The 10 closest to the pin advance to the finals (balls are numbered)

Can I really win one million dollars?
YES! If you’re one of the 10 finalists and you make the first hole in one, you win! If someone hits a hole in one in the semifinals, they win a Ford Truck. If no hole in one is made in either round, first prizes will be awarded. Each of the 30 semifinalists will receive a gift certificate for a free golf club!
