Millard Fillmore “Buddy” Gargis, Jr., 83, of Tuscumbia, passed away peacefully surrounded by family. Visitation for Buddy will be Friday, March 6, 2026, from 12:00-2:00 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home in Tuscumbia with the funeral service immediately following in the funeral home chapel. Sonny Owens will officiate the service. Burial will follow in Glendale Cemetery.
Buddy was a native and lifelong resident of Spring Valley. He was a member of Spring Valley Church of Christ. Buddy retired from Reynold’s as a Dolly Operator, loved Bass fishing, being outdoors, and especially spoiling his grandchildren.
Buddy was preceded in death by his parents, Millard and Mildred Gargis; sister, Libby Berry, brothers-in-law, Willard Berry, Clifford Miles, and Albert Hill; sister-in-law, Benita Ligon; and great nephew Ross Hill.
He is survived by his loving wife of sixty-four years, Beverly Gargis; son, Matt Gargis (Destin); sisters, Reba Coats (Robert), and Helen Miles; sister-in-law, Sharon Hardwick (Rayford); grandchildren, Gracie Bay Gargis and Mattie Hope Gargis; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and family.
Pallbearers will be Tim Hill, Mark Miles, Brian Berry, Rayford Hardwick, Scott Suggs, and Jeff Suggs.
