Millanee (Millie) Alexander Greer, 94, passed away on July 23, 2025 at El Reposo Nursing
Facility surrounded by her family. She was a small business owner, seamstress and worked in
the textile industry. She was a gardener with a truly green thumb. She loved to travel near and
far with family and friends. She loved the Lord and was a member of the Elgin Community
Church. She was a strong and loving daughter, wife, mother, Nana and friend who always put
others before herself.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Gaither Vinson and
Evaline Garland; husbands Holland Dempsey Alexander and Clifton Greer; brothers, J.D.
Vinson, Laymon Garland and Newton Garland. She is survived by daughters, Jane Alexander
(Richard Hagood) and Sandra Butler; grandson, Brant Butler (Beverly); great-grandson, Cliff
Butler; great-granddaughter Kate Butler; brother, Newman Garland and numerous nieces and
nephews.
A graveside memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 2, 11:00 a.m., at
Bluewater Cemetery, County Road 425, Killen. Rogersville Funeral Home is entrusted with
arrangements.
