Miley D. Fowler, age 94, of Bonnertown, TN passed away Wednesday, December 05, 2012. He was born on May 29, 1918, to Reverend William Andrew Fowler, Sr. and Mettie Jane Davis Fowler. He was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife of 71 years Elois Crowder Fowler; brother Reverend W. A. Fowler, Jr. and wife Nina Pearle; and grandson, Gregory Keith Fowler.

Survived by son Miley D. Fowler, Jr. and wife Linda of Nashville; granddaughter, Kimberly Simonis and husband, Drew of Goodlettsville; niece, Marion Joiner of Bonnertown; nephew, William Fowler and wife, Pat of Columbia, TN; great-granddaughters, Cailyn and Delany Simonis; sister, Minnie Lee Dye of Bonnertown; nieces and nephews; and dearly loved great-nieces and great-nephews.

Mr. Fowler was a graduate of UT having earned a Master’s degree in chemistry and a graduate of MTSU with a Master’s in Educational Administration.

He was a World War II Naval officer serving on a PT boat patrolling the Carribean, a research chemist with TVA, a farmer, teacher and administrator with the Lawrence County School System. He retired from the school system as a supervisor of instruction and materials.

Mr. Fowler was a life long scholar of the Bible serving the Lord as a deacon and a Sunday school teacher at Bonnertown Baptist and a Sunday School teacher at Immanuel Baptist for a period spanning more than 60 years.
