Mildred S. Mills, 90, of Huntsville, passed away Sunday at East Alabama Medical Center. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Jacob Mills, a WWII Veteran, and a brother, Jack O. Stacey.
Mildred was very active in her Baptist faith, having taught Sunday school, and having served as President of the WMU. She attended Central Baptist Church before moving to Opelika, AL. She was a graduate of North Alabama College of Commerce and worked for over 31 years at the Department of Defense US Army and Missile Command.
Survivors include daughters, Joy Mills Wolff and Jane Mills Graham; sister, Sonia Gojsza; grandchildren, Candace Prater (Dugan), Kimberly Boroughs (Sam), and Alexandra Wolff; great-grandchildren, Dugan Jr., Mills, Allyson, Graham, Leigh Catherine, Lydia and Samuel III; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 10 at Maple Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Mark Seanor officiating. Pallbearers will be Dugan Prater, Sam Boroughs, Gary Stacey, Michael Jones, Dugan Prater, Jr., Samuel Boroughs III and Steve Hassell.
The family would like to thank Dr. Keith Fuller of Opelika, AL and the nursing staff and devoted caregivers at Arbor Springs Health and Rehab Center for their support over the years. A special thank you is extended to nurses Jacqueline and Felicia.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to research dedicated to traumatic brain injury and other neurological disorders.
