Mildred Reed Edmonds passed away January 21, 2025. Ms. Edmonds was born on June 13, 1929, and was 95 years old at the time of her passing. She was born in Union Grove, AL, one of 6 children to Yearby and Mary Cooley Reed. She was a lifelong resident of Georgia Mountain. Ms. Edmonds was an administrative assistant at Wayne Feed Mills for 35+ years when she retired. She loved gardening, working in the yard, painting ceramics and spending family time by the pool at her home. Ms. Edmonds was an active member most of her life at the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church.
Mr. Edmonds was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny O’Neal Edmonds, and her son Johnny Reed Edmonds. As well as her parents, Yearby and Mary Reed, and her 5 siblings. She is survived by her daughter-in-law Sheridan Edmonds, her granddaughter Jill Edmonds Chandler (Bart), 2 great grandsons Reed Chandler (Katie, and Ross Chandler (Natalie), and 3 great-great-granddaughter Francie, Winnie Reed and Lettie Chandler.
A private family funeral service will be held Saturday, January 25, 2025 at 1:00 PM at Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
