Mildred “Precious” Temple Royce, 88, of Florence, AL, passed away on Saturday, November 1, 2025. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 5, 2025 at Colbert Memorial Chapel from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. A service will follow at 11. Burial will be in Colbert Memorial Gardens. Ashley Pettus will be officiating.
Mildred lived her life as a shining example of Christian love and kindness. She found great joy in caring for children in the church nursery. She enjoyed gardening and working in her yard. Above all, Mildred loved nothing more than spending time with her family.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, James Royce; parents, William Hosie and Elora Clingan; 6 brothers; 3 sisters.
She is survived by her sons, Greg Royce (Shannon), William (Bill) Royce; grandchildren, Kurstyn McDougal (Nick), Dalton Royce (Kristina), Logan Royce; great-grandchildren, Reagan, Landyn, Riley Kate, Jaxon Rhett; sisters, Alice Black, Martha Canida, Peggey Clingan Wilson; numerous nephew’s and nieces; dear friends, Debbie and Joe Knight, Shirley and Tony Parrish, and Sally Peterman.
