Mildred Pierce Vinson Saint, age 94, of Phil Campbell, passed away
November 2, 2023.
Mildred was a Christian and a member of Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church. She loved her church family and putting God first and then her family. She was the best cook around and her fried pies were famous in Franklin County. She attended the Red Hat Ladies Meetings, where she would dress up and enjoyed participating with the group. She worked like a man and out worked most men, from an early age of being taught good work ethic. Mildred would say in her older years that her best times were being at Burns Nursing Home. She enjoyed participating in beauty pageants and winning 1st Lady and placing in others. She loved being on the Burns TV program, singing I’ll Fly Away, which was her favorite song. Mildred loved her family, her 3 children and living her life to the fullest.
Mildred is survived by her children, Martha Gilbert (Chuck), Ronald Vinson (Linda),Dennis Vinson (Nancy); grandchildren, Keith Gilbert (Cinda), Katie Spear (Carl), Melanie Vinson, Matthew Vinson, Joshua Vinson (Jennifer), Daniel Vinson (Jennifer); siblings, Marvolene Fleming, Billy Pierce (DewAnn), Donald Pierce (Anna); 18 great-grandchildren and 4 great great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Bonnie W. Vinson, JW Saint; parents, Homer and Katie Pierce; sisters, Dorothy Dolan, Helen Champion (Arvil); brother in-law, Hershel Fleming; granddaughter, Kim Gilbert.
Visitation will be on Monday, November 6, 2023, from 11am until 1pm, with the funeral service following at 1pm in the Chapel of Pinkard Funeral Home of Russellville. Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery. Bro. Tony Datuin will officiate.
Pallbearers will be Stanly Champion, Keith Gilbert, Wally Dolan, Daniel Vinson Josh Vinson and Matthew Vinson.
Pinkard Funeral Home of Russellville assisted the family.
