Mildred Lillian Wright Hill Wells, age 88, of Florence, Ala., passed away on April 4, 2013, at her current residence in Martin, Ky.
The visitation will be Sunday, March 7, from noon-2 p.m. at Canaan Methodist with the funeral following at 2 p.m. Interment will follow in the adjoining cemetery.
Mrs. Wells was born in Florence, Ala. the daughter of the late Ira Freeman Wright and Mary Sue Perkins Wright. She was preceded in death by a brother, David Wright; and sisters, Jewel Johnson, Dorothy Newton, Mary Lewis; and former husband, James T Hill.
Mrs. Wells retired from the State of Alabama and from Hardy Insurance Agency in Florence. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, studying the history of Lauderdale County and researching her family genealogy. She was a member of Canaan Methodist Church in Florence, Ala.
Survivors include her husband, Ernest Wells, to whom she was married June 29, 1991; a son, Max Hill and his wife, Vickie, of Rome, Ga.; a daughter, Perri Jacobs and her husband, Doug, of Gulf Shores, Ala.; a sister, Lois Rhodes, of Florence, Ala.; grandchildren, Regan Palmer, of Gulf Shores, Ala. and Christopher Hill, of Rome, Ga.; a great-grandchild, Michael Phillips, of Gulf Shores, Ala.; and several nieces; and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Canaan Church.
